Medical Granting Agencies

B.C. Lung Association

OPERATING GRANTS

Brief Description:
The British Columbia Lung Association provides financial support for investigators working in the field of respiratory health. Generally speaking, investigators holding an academic appointment in a British Columbia university are eligible to apply. Health-related research proposals submitted by investigators in university faculties outside the health sciences will be given consideration only if the relevance to a human health problem is clear and direct. Investigators in British Columbia who do not hold an academic appointment in a university, and who wish to submit a proposal to the British Columbia Lung Association for support of their research, should first write to the Association giving a brief outline of the project, indicating the facilities available for its conduct, and naming the institution through which the funds would be administered.

Period of Support:
Grants are awarded on an annual basis and may be renewed indefinitely. For grant renewals, investigators must provide a detailed progress report.

Applicaton Deadlines:
April 1, with the grant becoming tenable the following October 1. All applications are externally reviewed. Application forms are available from the British Columbia Lung Association, 906 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1K7.

EQUIPMENT GRANTS

The application deadline is April 1, with the grant becoming tenable in July of the following year.
